Chiru Meeting Ground

Behind the dais from where megastar Chiranjeevi is slated to turn into a politician on Tuesday, sat a few hundred men in a sombre mood. ( Watch )

Comprising men and women, many with tonsured heads, they form the 3000-odd volunteers.

On Monday evening, on the eve of the political meeting, they were listening attentively to a team leader who told them how to manage and herd the crowd into the 40 enclosures that have been created to accommodate about four lakh people. From the look on their faces, it was clear that crowd management was the uppermost concern in their minds.

How fragile the situation can turn in a matter of seconds was made clear when Pawan Kalyan, filmstar and the younger brother of Chiranjeevi, made an appearance wearing a dhoti, a shirt and barefoot.

Despite the best efforts of his securitymen to form a cordon around him, many of the hundreds of onlookers whistled, raised slogans and gatecrashed to mob him.

"Yes, managing the crowd on Tuesday will be a major concern and we are according it top priority," said P Rajesh, a software engineer from Hyderabad who is part of about 150 youngsters from the state capital going by the name ‘the do it' volunteers.

According to Allu Arvind, his brother-in-law and star of the event insisted on coming to the temple town by regular commercial flight.

However, in case a traffic jam occurs enroute, a helicopter has been kept as standby to ferry him from the airport to the venue.

The organisers claimed that traffic arrangements for Tuesday have been made in such a manner that pilgrims descending on Tirupati for darshan will not be affected in any manner.

The meeting itself, scheduled from 4 pm to 7 pm, will include a cultural programme lasting about one hour while another hour has been earmarked for Chiranjeevi to speak.

"All other details, including the name of the party, its agenda and any star entrants to the party will be unveiled on Tuesday," Arvind said.

According to Arvind, the meeting at any cost would be over by 7 pm. "We want to ensure that those people who come to the meeting from the nearby districts are able to reach their homes by nightfall," he said.

However, according to sources, another reason for them to stick to a deadline is to ensure that Chiranjeevi is able to leave the temple town by Tuesday itself.

In order to prevent traffic jams due to sudden influx of people for the meeting, the authorities have decided to curtail all train services at Renigunta itself and not allow it into Tirupati.

With the Chandragiri-Renigunta bypass slated to be closed because of its proximity to the meeting, the adjoining arterial roads would be clogged with traffic because of which the authorities have made arrangements to ensure that all vehicles coming for the meeting would be allowed into the city in a single line.

The eight-feet high huge dais, comprising big pictures of Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, B R Ambedkar, Jyotirao Phule and a digital screen at the centre, attracted hundreds of people.

Nine digital screens have been installed at strategic places for the crowd to listen to a larger-than-life Chiranjeevi. And in a display of some order unlike many political meetings, first aid clinics, fire engines and water packets are being arranged for the public.

Over 2,500 security personnel including bomb disposal squads and dog squads have been pressed into service to maintain order.
As dusk set in on Monday, the crowds still thronged the meeting venue and a huge air of expectation enveloped the area.

"Tomorrow, our annaiah will launch a movement for social justice," said G Arun Kumar, a physically challenged person from Khammam district who claimed that Pawan Kalyan has promised him a job.

Among the enclosures at the venue are exclusive ones for women and the physically challenged. Many, like Arun Kumar, are hoping that Tuesday will usher in a new dawn and change the political equation in the state forever.

Chiru Party Name - Discussions

Chiranjeevi’s party name shouldn’t be a pure Telugu name. He shouldn’t project it to be a local party like TDP. He has considerable support in TN and Karnataka.
1. May be he should have name like “Justice Party” (the one by Periyar E.V.Ramaswamy Naikar. Coincidentally Chiranjeevi belongs to same caste as Periyar), “Democratic” , “Socialist” or some Sanskrit name where it’s understandable by whole of India.
2. The party’s ideology should be concentrated to uplift all sections of the society especially lower and middle class people.
3. Also, he should say there will be internal democracy within the party unlike Congress or TDP where a “High Command” has its monopoly
4. He should say he won’t be the president or CM for more than two terms and he should promise he will pass on the power like Americans
5. Right from the nomination of the party from MLAs to MPs should be decided by the party cadre (like the American primary systems)
6. There should a strict no on corruption.
7. Should renounce his caste and say that he belongs to everyone and not just his caste, BCs and his fans.

Chiranjeevi hosts tea party for filmstars

Chiranjeevi, who has stepped into politics, hosted a tea party for the film fraternity at the Rama Naidu studios at Jubilee Hills on Saturday. Prominent among those who attended the party were Venkatesh, Nagarjuna, Tarun, Rama Naidu, Tammareddy Bharadwaja, B Gopal, Raghavendra Rao and Kodandarami Reddy.
Interestingly, actor Mohan Babu
who is known to have a running a feud with Chiranjeevi also came for the tea party. "He invited me with love and I came," Mohan Babu said. Balakrishna and Jr. NTR from the Nandamuri clan were conspicuous by their absence. Recently, TDP president Chandrababu Naidu has pulled in NTR family members into the active politics to try out their charisma against the Chiranjeevi factor. Addressing the film fraternity, actor Chiranjeevi said that even in his political life, he will see to it that the film fraternity gets its due respect. He also explained why he was getting into politics.
The pleasant meeting was not without hiccups though. Some Chiru fans tried to gatecrash the party and reached within touching distance of the man they adored. Taken aback, Chiranjeevi walked away with the help of those around him but returned quickly to greet them. But for the media, it turned out to be an exasperating evening with the organisers disallowing journalists.

Chiru Party Announcement Videos

My life is dedicated to people

A cool and calm looking Chiranjeevi said: My sincere thanks to one and all whoever prompted me to enter into politics. It is in tune with the dreams and aspirations of crores of Telugu people, fans and supporters. For the last some months, newspapers replete about my political entry. I consider this as response from the public. Today is the most memorable day in my life. I wanted to talk about my political entry with my own mouth. Today has brought the much required change in my life. For the last thirty years, I was in the film industry. Now, the public response wants me to come into politics. They have decided my political future. My life is dedicated to the people and in their service. This is a God-given opportunity. As and when required, God sometimes takes on the human course of action for solving social problems. My political entry is the call from God. People from all over the state and my fans conducted huge rallies and meets inviting me to join politics. Now, it is my basic responsibility and duty to fulfill their dreams.

APJ Abdul Kalam and NTR inspired me
“During all these days, I met a number of socially elite people, common people and several segments of the society. I expressed my feelings to them. One such person who inspired me most is APJ Abdul Kalam garu. He told me: Chiranjeevi, when I was in Chandigarh participating in a program for about 400 students, I asked them several questions. Most of them responded to take up the positions as engineers, lawyers, doctors, civil servants, but a negligible percentage of them (just four or five persons) said they are interested in politics. Politics has come to be regarded as a mire of mud. This should change. People like you should come to change this. You don’t know about yourself. You are more than an actor – These words forced me to change my mindset and concentrate on doing something constructive to the people through politics.”

There is nothing in finding fault with selfish politicians. When the youth and those who have the stamina to change the society don’t respond to politics, it is a big mistake. If I fail to make my decision to enter politics, I shall be making a historical blunder. I thank Abdul Kalam garu for his inspiring words. Another great man who changed the course of politics with social creativity in the state was late NT Rama Rao garu. He proved that artistes also have political and social awareness. I bow my head to him and thank him for all the inspiration to me.”

I can clearly see the invitation from lawyers, workers, mahilas, youth, tribal people and all. (Showing the portraits of Ambedkar, Gandhi, Mother Teresa and Pule)… These are the four great people who inspired me. I will tell you two particular incidents which moved me to tears. In Khammam district, a home guard before committing suicide made it clear in his note that he felt sad for not being able to see “Chiranjeevi” as chief minister. Secondly, a couple from the IT sector also did the same thing, before ending their lives. I understand their feelings before resorting to extreme step. Once again, these incidents made me believe that I would be making a historical blunder if I don’t enter into politics.

I can’t act as politician, but only live “I am not here for power or posts. I am into politics just to have mental satisfaction. God has given me popularity and money to some extent. Whenever the people are benefited with my blood bank, they come to me – hold my hands and cheeks, and express their thanks. That is enough for me. After my three decades of stint as an actor, now I am getting ready to do the role of a politician. I can never be acting in this area. Just I have live in this. I shall continue to live with honesty as long as I live.”

Details of Party, flag and agenda at Tirupati
With regard to the Party’s name, agenda and flag, I shall be declaring these matters at a public meeting on August 26th at Tirupati. This day happens to be the birthday of Mother Teresa. My sole aim is to make Andhra Pradesh into – Santosha Andhra Pradesh and Chiru Navvula Andhra Pradesh.

During the announcement, nobodyis there from his family. as allu aravind is busy with the schedules of 26 the arrangements and nagababu is at Delhi for the registration of party.
